About this resource

Ready to print, adapt and use.

This one-page cut-and-paste worksheet features six illustrated living things – a deer, a cactus, kelp, a roadrunner, a dolphin and a caribou – alongside four labeled habitat columns. Students cut out each picture and paste it under the habitat where it lives, showing that different habitats support different plants and animals.

Teaching notes

Before cutting, ask students to name each living thing and share what they already know about where it lives.

Encourage them to justify each choice with a clue from the picture, such as the kelp’s underwater setting or the caribou’s thick coat.

The finished sheet works well as a discussion piece: which habitat has the fewest living things, and why might that be?
